Hunter Safety Classes

We take hunting seriously at CCR, and the safety and education of our new hunters is no exception. The purpose of hunter education is to develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to become safe, responsible hunters. Our classes go well beyond the standard hunters safety courses to include such things as lost and injured hunter scenarios and survival skills. Whether at the gun ranges or in the woods, safety is always priority one at the Ranch. We work to ensure everyone successfully completes the course to assist everyone in becoming a safe and knowledgeable hunters.

Any age is welcome to attend classes in Hunter Safety. Parents are always encouraged to attend with their children and depending on age may be required to attend. Classes are at varying times during the year, so be sure to check our calendar or CCR News for the most current updates.

The class is open to all ages but those younger than 10 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian during all of the class sessions.  Parents and adults are encouraged to attend as anyone born after January 1st of 1960 who is a first time hunter must possess a hunter safety certificate to hunt in Michigan.  Participants must attend all four days of class which will include hands on training in archery and shooting sports, a compass course, and a 50 question test.  Upon successful completion of the course a hunter safety certificate will be awarded.  Please register below if interested.  Deadline for registration is N/A.
